More cars than ever before on the exhibition grounds

Back on track: TWB set to reunite the car tuning scene after mandatory hiatus

Whenever the cars are riding lower to the ground, you know it’s Tuning World Bodensee time again. From May 26 to 29, 2022, the splendid Alpine panorama surrounding Friedrichshafen will be upstaged by immaculate engine compartments, suspension-optimized gems, and rims polished to a brilliant shine. “Our international exhibition event for car tuning, its lifestyle and club scene is finally ready at the start again! Both we and the exhibitors, along with the car tuning community, can’t wait to celebrate the diversity of automotive refinement together on the Friedrichshafen trade fair grounds, again. And thanks to our tried-and-tested health protection and hygiene concept, we are optimally prepared for the reunion,” explains Messe Friedrichshafen CEO Klaus Wellmann.

Tuning World Bodensee’s blend of hands-on experience and comprehensive industry overview makes it Europe's largest trade show exclusively devoted to automotive tuning. Following a two-year mandatory hiatus caused by the coronavirus pandemic, more cars than ever before will gather on the trade show grounds to celebrate the 18th anniversary of the event. Over 1500 tuned vehicles and roughly 850 participants from the car tuning industry, calendar of events, and scene are set to transform the site’s 11 exhibition halls into an Eldorado for car fans. “This year’s event is a very special one,” reports project manager Dirk Kreidenweiß. “Tuning World Bodensee’s existence depends on car tuning enthusiasts – on their community spirit and interaction with each other. But for two years, that personal interaction hasn’t been possible. We’re now about to make up for that shortfall. In fact, networking and sharing will be the official theme of this year’s event. We have significantly enlarged the Style Mile and created meeting points in every hall for discussions and “talking shop”. There will also be after-show parties in the Open Air Grounds West to get visitors into a high-spirited, celebratory mood, despite the pandemic situation.” On each of the event’s three evenings, visitors will be invited to dance the night away at the Open Air Sunset Sessions to a variety of music styles, including mash-up, 90s and electro.

Speaking of open air, there will be more than FMX bikers flying through the air in the outdoor Performance Area. The extraordinary, gravity-defying show’s line-up there will even feature a beach buggy. While the drifting shows in the Static Display Area are guaranteed to offer plenty of driving action and squealing tires, the roaring engines in the Dragster Area (Open Air Grounds West) are sure to rattle nearby windows.

The substantially enlarged Style Mile will celebrate the latest trends in auto-tuning, as well as premium-class vehicles in Halls B3, B4 and the East Foyer. Plenty of the more than 250 cars feature impeccable examples of wheel/tire and suspension tuning in styles such as camber, stance and fitment. But also on display will be two absolute must-haves in the car tuning scene: wide-bodies and performance cars. No less impressive will be Hall B5, where the 48 most spectacular show cars of the season from 14 European countries will compete for the title in Europe’s most prestigious show & shine competition, the European Tuning Showdown.

In partnership with polo.friends.germany, Tuning World Bodensee 2022 will stage the world’s largest indoor VW Polo meeting in Hall A7. The entire hall will be devoted to showcasing every facet of the Volkswagen Polo world – from show & shine, “rat car” tuning, “trailer queen” style and modified classic cars to street racing, quarter-mile racing, Berg Cup and slalom racing. The other A halls will also present a diverse range of attractions and exhibits. Whether on Pirate Island (Piraten-Insel), in Knight’s Castle (Ritterburg), or at the race track in the Club Arena, visitors will be amazed not only by the cars but by the 128 beautifully designed stands.

Thanks to the RaceRoom eSports Circuit, there will also be exciting, full-speed-ahead starts and fierce racing duels – right before your eyes at Tuning World Bodensee. For four days, Europe’s top racers will compete in thrilling head-to-head duels.

Hall A2 will be transformed into the world’s largest tuning garage. This year, once again, those visitors who drive to Tuning World Bodensee in their finely tuned showpieces will become part of the event at VIP Parking.

The upcoming edition of Tuning World Bodensee will take place from Thursday, May 26 to Sunday, May 29, 2022, on the exhibition grounds in Friedrichshafen. In accordance with official public health regulations, all applicable access requirements will be implemented.
